Learning is for Everyone is pleased to be part of the SPARC 2011 Conference, where we’ll be joining more than 140 exhibitors highlighting a variety of resources for children with disabilities. SPARC – STAND-Pinellas Accessing Resources Conference – showcases a wide range of support, information and resources for youth and their families. Sixty separate breakout sessions will provide basic information in educational, medical, emotional and support services in the State of Florida. Sessions will focus on professionals sharing a working knowledge of successful practices and instruction to be used at home, in the classroom, and in the community.
SPARC is an outreach of Stand Pinellas. STatewide Advocacy Network on Disabilities, or STAND for short, is a non-for-profit organization based in Florida. STAND’s purpose is to provide information and resources, and to advocate for the rights of children with disabilities to the education that he or she is entitled to under the law. The three main laws that STAND is concerned with are: Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation act of 1973.
